Vancouver is a large city, and it's divided into a number of different reasons for various purposes. There are two major types of divisions in use, areas and business improvement areas. For administrative purposes there are 22 areas of the city: Arbutus, Downtown, Dunbar, Fairview, Fraserview, Grandview, Hastings, Kerrisdale, Killarney, Kitsilano, Marpole, Mount Pleasant, Oakridge, Point Grey, Renfrew-Collingwood, Riley Park, Shaughnessy, Sunrise, Sunset, West End and Strathcona. In addition there are four historical neighbourhoods: Downtown Eastside, Chinatown, Gastown and Yaletown.
